Royal Naval Covers Group

             ABOUT THE R.N.C.G.

Collect a History of the Royal Navy on Special Signed Commemorative Covers.

The group is run voluntarily, is non-profit making and has received recognition from the First Sea Lord. Limited editions are produced, and for current Navy include, Launchings, Commissionings, Re-dedications, Decommissionings. Other Specials include Deployments, Navy Days and Fleet Reviews which feature colour photographs. All sections of the Royal Navy are "covered", including RFA, RMAS, shore establishments, as well as visits to our shores by Foreign Navies, including vessels under Sea Training. Past events include commemorations of Battles, Victories, the Loss of and 50th Anniversaries of events in World War Two. Other events, World War One, Korea, Gulf, Falklands, are also commemorated. Stamps and Special Handstamps are obtained if possible which are associated with the event. Special signed covers are our main aim, whereby people associated with the event sign a limited number of the covers produced and these have included members of The Royal Family and The Admiral of the Fleet to a Boy Seaman and Ship's Captains. VC and GC Holders have also signed.

Usually three covers are sent to members each month, with prices from £3.00 depending on the number of signatures. In time we are able to obtain a valuable and interesting collection and at the same time make worthwhile donations to Naval Charities.
